Safeguarding
St James’ Church takes its responsibilities surrounding the safeguarding of children, young people, and adults who may be at risk very seriously, and works in partnership with the Diocese of Salisbury to ensure that we work in accordance with best practice at all times.

St James’ First School
We are delighted to have very close links between the Church and St James’ School. The vicar goes in once a week to lead Collective Worship and there is are 2 teams of people who lead “Open the Book” weekly as well. The Church has 1 representative on the Governing Body.
The school moved premises, from next door to St James, to its current location in Park Lane in 1984. However there are regular visits to the church by individual classes and the whole school come for Christmas, Easter and other big festivals.
