Alabare

Alabare is a charity, based in Salisbury, Wilts. It started looking after homeless people, and that is still its core mission, but it now also has a care for ex-service personnel and rehabilitation. See its website here

We had a great service with a guest speak from Alabare come to speak to us on Sunday 14th August 2022 during our 10.30am Service.

The Roaming Nativity in Dec 2020 raised money for the charity. Here is there acknowledgement.

I have just been forwarded your email regarding the donation of £674.15, which was collected by the churches in Alderholt during the mobile nativity of themed Christmas story tableaus around the village.

Can I send a huge Thank You to all those who have enabled this donation – the congregations of St James and of Alderholt Chapel, and the residents of the village. We are so very grateful for this generous support, and it sounds as though it has been raised in a wonderfully imaginative and creative way!

As you will know, the pressures on the homeless and vulnerable are considerable at the moment, and at Alabaré we are doing all we can to ensure that we continue to provide the support that is needed. Despite the challenges of cancelled fund-raising events and the increased costs of providing PPE and equipment to enable our staff to self-isolate, I am relieved to confirm that we have been able to keep all of our homes open, providing a safe place for our residents to receive the support and care they need.

Please pass on our heartfelt thanks to the congregations and residents and encourage them to hold our work in their prayers. I particularly value your support, knowing the challenges that churches themselves are facing at the moment.

Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas from all at Alabaré

With very best wishes
